Former patient and employee of Narconon David Edgar Love is continuing his crusade to prevent the Department of Health and Social Services from granting certification to the Trois-Rivières detoxification centre.
In addition to having filed complaints with the Labour Standards Commission and the Human Rights Commission against the centre, whose methods have been criticized in the past, he came to Trois-Rivières yesterday to meet with an official of the Mauricie and Central Quebec Health and Social Services Agency.
Because of the stricter regulations that will take effect in July, all detoxification centres in Quebec will have to apply for certification to continue receiving and helping persons who wish to resolve their addiction problems. According to the available information, Narconon has not yet applied for certification.
David Edgar Love recently traveled to Ottawa to inform Senator Céline Hervieux-Payette about his fight against this organization, which has often been associated with the Church of Scientology. He has also delivered a complaint to the Minister of Health and Social Services Yves Bolduc.
