THE CHURCH of Scientology in Australia was last night defending itself from a scathing attack by a politician using parliamentary privilege.
In a senate speech late on Tuesday, independent south Australia senator Nick Xenophon said: “Scientology is not a religious organisation. It is a criminal organisation that hides behind its so-called religious beliefs.”
Mr Xenophon questioned Scientology’s tax exemption status and called for it to be investigated by the police and parliament.
The senator… Continue

RogueAnonymous was one of the great vidfags of early Chanology, and had a fan thread on WWP "Tracking RogueAnonymous".
His vids usually start with Arabic music and are cast in a WWII newsreel style.
He withdrew his YouTube channel. Fortunately, WhiteTrashMessiah reposted all his vids. Enturbanon created… Continue

THE Irish wing of the controversial Church of Scientology is making annual profits of over €270,000 but its director last night insisted all the money was going to pay off the company's "substantial debts".
A favourite with celebrities such as Tom Cruise and John Travolta, the local Scientology spin-off has been the subject of numerous protests at its Middle Abbey Street base in Dublin, with a Fine Gael TD branding the movement a "crackpot cult".
New financial filings show the Irish branch's i… Continue

A Paris court has fined the French branch of the Church of Scientology a total of €600,000 after finding it guilty of fraud but allowed the group to continue operating in France.
When the hearing opened, there were expectations that the court could order the group to be banned in France but legislation passed in parliament just before the start of the trial in May, ruled that option out.
The legislation has since been changed back to allow the dissolution of an organisation found guilty of fra… Continue

A leading Irish recruitment agency has won a highly unusual tussle with the quasi-religious cult, the Scientologists.
Prosperity Recruitment had applied to register the trade mark of its own name: "Prosperity".
However, objections arose as the Church of Scientology has a similar trade mark relating to the word "Prosperity".
The objection said that Prosperity Recruitment's activities were too closely described to the Scientologists!
After much difficulty, Dublin-based Prosperity was successfu… Continue
Cork students have been urged to be cautious if approached by members of religious organisations while traveling abroad. Members of the anti-Scientology group Anonireland.org gathered outside City Hall earlier this week to protest the inclusion of a 'Dianetics and Scientology' stand at the Mind Body Spirit Festival held at the venue. While one protester refused to remove his mask for fear of being "destroyed" by members of the Church of Scientology, ex-Scientologist and founder of Anon-Ireland P… Continue

It's Saturday the 8th August and I was just buzzed into the Church of Scientology in Dublin. I'm physically shaking after the stories I've been told outside by former scientologist, Peter Griffiths. He tells me that they call all journalists `merchants of chaos', and make up rumours about those that write negative stories about their `Religion'. Today probably wasn't the best day to be wearin… Continue

All of us are being influenced, either consciously or unconsciously and we often popularly say about someone whose behaviour we do not understand that they have been ‘brainwashed.’ However, in law it is a concept that is not really recognised. Certainly we find it hard to understand the 9/11, 7/7, 21/7 homicide bombers and the doctor bombers who tried bomb nightclubs in London and Glasgow Airport last June. Our speakers will try to grapple with the issues o
John Duignan likes to joke about his experiences. "I did 22 years. You'd be out of jail quicker for murder." Duignan was a member of the Church of Scientology.
Having joined the group in 1985, he moved up the ranks until he was promoted to membership of the Sea Organisation, the management arm. Duignan was to spend the next two decades in Scientology's grip before finally leaving in 2007. He has written a book, The Complex: An Insider Exposes the Covert World of the Church of Scientology, which… Continue

The Independent
Mine was an uneasy childhood. My father was schizophrenic and had bouts of manic depression. He and my mother both died when I was 10 years old, and my siblings and I moved from Scotland to Ireland, to live with my mother’s relatives.
As a teenager, I started to find the idea of an all-encompassing God and protector alluring, and in 1984, moved to a small village in Germany. Here, I discovered Scientol… Continue

Just found your site. It's excellent ! As a former scientologist of Irish descent, I am very pleased that you're getting rid of Scientology in Dublin. I have a niece from Poland permanently living in Dublin with her husband and daughter and I certainly don't want to have to come to Dublin to pull them out of Scientology. I would if I had to ! Someday I'll return to Ireland, but that'll be for the fun of retirement. And maybe lay a fart at the grave of Scientology. LOL, from Winnipeg Continue
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DUBLIN, Ireland - January 17th 2009 - The collective known as Anonymous will stage its 12th monthly protest against the 'Church' of Scientology this Saturday.
This will complete a full year of internet-driven demonstrations stemming from Scientology's attempts at censorship in January 2008. Following this shameful debacle, the "Project Chanology" movement was born. February 2008 then ushered in the start of an ongoing series of non-violent protests by the group 'Anonymous… Continue
